Maslows Hierarchy of Needs Theory has five elements; physiologic inescapably, Security require, Belonging needs, Esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. Maslow believed that each level of needs must be satisfied for the next level to hold up important. In my case this theory is a pretty faithful fit. The decision to go back to college did not come from the physiological, security, and obedience needs. I already had a good job when I made the decision to return to school, so my physiological, and security needs were already met. Belonging has never been an issue with me. I am who I am, and I will pretend for no one. If soul doesnt care for me than I make no room in my life for him or her. The next need is esteem.
I felt returning to college and earning my degree would be positive for my self-image, in my possess eyes as well as set a good example for my children. The last level of Maslows theory is self-actualization. I thought about it and realized that if I didnt return to college I was not living up to my full potential.
