As childrens bodies physically grow during life, so do their minds. Different issues arise and new ideas surface which children and young adults, umpteen times, have a tough time understanding. Children often pop out a friend or a hero in order to assist them through many of lifes perils. These fanciful friends are individuals that children can relate to, find durability in, and turn to without feeling judged. Though as children age their imaginary friends become things of their past, many young adults continue to find attachment and mentoring characters in novels, on television programs, and on professional compete period teams; the possibilities are endless. Holden Caulfield is his name, and he is the main character in J.D. Salingers The Catcher in the Rye. My 9th grade English teacher assign this novel on the summer reading add up for launching freshmen. I had already heard rumors that this was a huge lasttail it of literature, but I would have never imagined the electric shock that this keep would have on me. As soon as I started reading, the novel grabbed my attention because I realized the splendour of equity as a result of Holdens high bear on for honesty. In the novel, the main character views penny-pinching of the adults surrounding him as phonies, and he is not pleased with their escape of authenticity.

He views most of the world as fake and does not have humanity for people who live superficial and off-key lives. Holden does, however, realize the purity associated with childhood and believes that the transformation from a factual person to a shallow person happens as children slip in adulthood.
